As the Customer Development Manager for a top national retail partner, you will be the analytical engine that drives strategic decision‑making, category expansion, and revenue acceleration. Key Responsibilities

  • Data Stewardship: Own and maintain multiple data sources—including point‑of‑sale (POS) feeds, syndicated market data, and internal shipment records—to monitor the execution of vendor programs and assortment strategies.
  • Insight Generation: Conduct deep‑dive analyses to uncover trends, gaps, and growth opportunities, delivering recommendations that influence category strategy, pricing, promotion, and inventory decisions.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on sales, profit margins, market share, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for the assigned retail partner, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Strategic Communication: Translate complex analytical findings into compelling presentations for diverse audiences, ranging from senior executives to frontline sales teams.
  • Best‑Practice Advocacy: Stay current on industry analytics standards and emerging tools, championing best‑practice methodologies across the organization.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Partner with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal cross‑functional teams (sales, marketing, supply chain) to align insights with business objectives.
  • Reporting Excellence: Produce polished, presentation‑ready reports that combine POS data, syndicated data, and account‑specific metrics, delivering them on a regular cadence.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assess supplier performance, providing actionable feedback to improve inventory fill rates, assortment depth, and overall profitability.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure the retail partner experiences superior service by delivering timely, accurate analytics and supporting problem‑solving initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector; experience in the adult beverage industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative decision‑making techniques.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data from disparate sources into concise, action‑oriented recommendations.
  • Understanding of national chain sales, retail operations, and distributor dynamics.
  • Strong grasp of category management principles, shopper and consumer insights, and the ability to apply these insights to drive growth.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
