[Remote] Head of Platform Engineering

They are seeking a strategic and highly hands-on Head of Platform Engineering to lead the design, development, and long-term evolution of their core technology platform, focusing on building scalable and future-proof systems that support business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture, hands-on development, and ongoing evolution of core platform capabilities, including:
- Business Process Orchestration Engine
- Workflow applications
- Web applications and deep enterprise integrations
- Cloud infrastructure provisioning, management, and modern SDLC practices (CI/CD, observability, IaC)
- Salesforce platform architecture and integrations (Agentforce, Flow, custom development, and connectivity to custodians and other core systems)
- Application development framework and reusable platform services
- Build and own platform-layer and process-driven applications (e.g., business process workflows, Salesforce apps, and infrastructure tooling). Partner with and support the Data Platform team on data-domain and AI-driven applications that they own (e.g., trading tools, tax management, AUM, email intelligence)
- Own and evolve the platform’s CI/CD infrastructure, pipelines, and deployment tooling. Partner with the Data Platform team to define and promote shared standards, best practices, and cross-team consistency for CI/CD (without owning the data-stack-specific pipelines already operated by the Data Platform team, such as dbt Cloud CI and data quality gates)
- Build and lead strong cross-functional partnerships with the Data Platform team, Data Science & AI team, Salesforce engineers, Infrastructure & Resilience team, and Delivery Management to align platform strategy, eliminate silos, and accelerate delivery of unified capabilities
- Partner closely with our technology infrastructure service provider (e.g., Align) to design and provision efficient Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions that support scalable, secure, and observable platform operations
- Drive platform modernization with a strong hands-on delivery focus while maintaining the highest standards for security, compliance, auditability, and resilience in a regulated wealth management environment
- Establish engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform governance through direct leadership and execution
- Collaborate effectively with our implementation partner and internal delivery squads to successfully execute the Platform Evolution program
Skills
- 10+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering, enterprise architecture, or technical leadership roles, with a strong track record of hands-on delivery and execution, preferably in wealth management, asset management, or fintech
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture and integrations (including Agentforce, Flow, and custom development)
- Strong background building orchestration engines, workflow applications, integration platforms, event-driven architectures, web applications, and real-time data platforms
- Hands-on experience with modern data and AI platforms (Snowflake, Cortex AI, LangGraph, or similar agentic frameworks is highly valued)
- Proven experience with Vibe and Spec driven development methodologies
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-year platform modernization programs with direct hands-on involvement in agile, cross-functional environments
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships and influence across multiple technical teams (Data Platform, Data Science & AI, Salesforce, Infrastructure, etc.)
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across technology and business teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in RIA / family-office technology environments or similar highly regulated financial services settings
- Familiarity with wealth management workflows (onboarding, client 360° profiles, investment operations, trading, and reporting)
- Exposure to AI agent development and intelligent automation
- Demonstrated success in building sustainable platform organizations through strong cross-team collaboration
