Position Overview
arenaflex is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting & Data Analytics Specialist to join our expanding Accounting team. This full-time, remote position offers an exceptional entry point for motivated individuals — no prior experience at arenaflex is required, though a strong foundation in accounting principles and data analysis is essential. The role combines the rigor of US GAAP-compliant revenue accounting with the creativity of data engineering, making it ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and solving complex problems.
Reporting to senior leadership within the Finance organization, you will serve as the bridge between the Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, and Tax teams. You will help design and automate journal entry flows, monitor data integrity, and lead initiatives that streamline the month-end close cycle. With a competitive hourly rate of $28/hour, this role provides a robust platform for professional growth in a supportive, remote-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and various business owners to align on policies, processes, and strategic initiatives.
- Accounting Data Requirements: Design and document comprehensive accounting data specifications that enable automated journal entries through the Revenue Subledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Lead functional improvement initiatives to streamline revenue operations and shorten the monthly revenue close timeline.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Oversee the integrity of journal entries generated by the Revenue Subledger and design robust data quality checks for emerging use cases, including new product launches and ad-hoc analyses.
- Product & Engineering Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to continuously refine the daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation investigations with the analytics team.
- New Product Review: Evaluate new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance Reviews, assessing downstream impact on existing accounting requirements and identifying the need for new specifications.
- Journal Entry Flow Design: Cross-collaborate with partner teams to design, refine, and automate journal entry flows for both new and existing products via the Revenue Subledger.
- Monthly Close Activities: Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including US GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, journal entry reviews, and close package validations.
- Special Projects: Execute ad-hoc analyses and special projects as assigned by leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making across the organization.
