About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team of innovative educators. As a remote contractor, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, setting your own schedule and working independently to provide individualized instruction and support to K-12 students. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that IEP goals are met and exceeded.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in collaboration with parents and school staff, using your expertise to create personalized learning plans.
  • Utilize engaging, research-based teaching methods tailored to students' specific needs, incorporating technology and innovative strategies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Conduct virtual assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth, using data to inform instruction and drive student progress.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote success and ensure that students are meeting their full potential.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Stay up-to-date on special education regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique blend of skills, knowledge, and experience. We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, with a strong foundation in educational theory and practice.
  • Active New Hampshire Special Education teaching certification, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs, with a deep understanding of the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Prior experience working in a virtual setting is highly desirable, although we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and 504 plans, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a remote environment.
  • A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
