  • Initiate outbound outreach to follow up on pending applications, clarify documentation, and ensure timely resolution of claims and policy changes.
  • Navigate multiple internal systems—including New Business, Claims, and In‑Force Back Office platforms—to retrieve data, process transactions, and update records.
  • Document each interaction with clear, concise notes that capture the essence of the conversation and any required next steps.
  • Mentor and train Associate Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), sharing best practices and supporting their development.
  • Maintain departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by handling increasingly complex transactions with speed and precision.
  • Collaborate with management on special projects, process improvements, and initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in customer service, finance, or related fields are a plus.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience as an Associate CSR or in a comparable customer‑focused position within the financial services industry.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, friendly manner.
  • Demonstrated multitasking abilities, comfortably handling multiple calls, system queries, and documentation tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive mindset that anticipates customer needs and offers solutions before issues escalate.
  • Strong empathy and a genuine desire to help customers achieve their financial goals.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort using CRM tools, ticketing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with insurance products such as life, health, or annuities, and familiarity with policy lifecycle terminology.
  • Previous exposure to remote or hybrid work environments, demonstrating self‑discipline and effective time management.
  • Certification in customer service excellence (e.g., HDI, CCSP) or ongoing professional development in the financial sector.
  • Ability to coach peers, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting policy data, identifying trends, and suggesting process enhancements.
