Key Responsibilities

As our ideal candidate, you'll be working closely with our team of cyber security engineers to drive success across the NIST core cyber security functions: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Protect and Defend: Identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to internal IT systems and networks.
• Analyze and Investigate: Perform specialized reviews and evaluations of incoming cybersecurity information, investigate cybersecurity events, and conduct technical investigations to determine root causes.
• Security Audits and Compliance: Participate in audit, compliance, and regulatory functions, ensuring adherence to frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and PCI.
• Vulnerability Management: Engage in vulnerability management programs, including external and internal vulnerability and penetration tests, documentation, and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Incident Response: Coordinate with business units, operations, and technology teams for incident response, remediation, and improvement.
• Security Reporting and Recommendations: Develop security reports, recommendations, and policies that are meaningful, defensible, and actionable for various audiences.
• Log Collection and Monitoring: Perform log collection, correlation, reviews, archival, retention, and monitoring of automated alerts for security-related items.

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in cyber security, with expertise in the following areas:

• Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender Suite, Qualys Attack Surface Management, Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway, Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), SolarWinds, Azure, Microsoft Exchange, and Palo Alto Panorama.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of security controls across various domains, including access management, encryption, vulnerability management, and network security.
• Familiarity with security technologies, devices, and countermeasures, as well as the threats they are designed to counter.
• Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
• Positive attitude, team player, self-starter; ability to work independently and effectively with all levels of staff and management.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

• Experience with Varonis, Clarity Identity Lifecycle Manager, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with multiple security frameworks, such as NIST 800-series, ISO 27000-series, PCI DSS, HIPAA, HITRUST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, (ISC)² SSCP, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
• Experience in developing security reports, recommendations, policies, and procedures for diverse audiences.
