[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support high-volume invoice processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of obligations. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to maintain strong financial controls and support overall accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting system
  • Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts to verify completeness and accuracy
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies or missing documentation
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain vendor records, including onboarding new vendors and verifying required documentation
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs (check, ACH, or wire), ensuring proper approvals are obtained
  • Monitor shared AP inbox and prioritize urgent items for resolution
  • Reconcile accounts payable and assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
  • Support audit requests, including providing documentation and schedules as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency
  • Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned

Skills

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
