The role involves pitching, writing, and editing culture explainers focused on celebrity and entertainment, while also tracking performance across platforms like Apple News.
Responsibilities
- Write new content, closely adhering to InStyle’s style guide and ensuring all copy is clean, accurate, and optimized for platforms like Google Discover and Apple News
- Editing other writer’s content
- Identifying and executing apple news resurfacing opportunities
- Pitch content based on news cycle and search trends
Skills
- Education: BA or BS
- Experience: 2-3 years experience writing for a celebrity news publication or in a related entertainment space
- Strong writing and editing skills, impeccable journalistic standards, and attention to detail
- Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and understand how to find an evergreen angle from a news event
- Demonstrated understanding of SEO and analytics
- Demonstrated knowledge of celebrity and pop culture
- Loves a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
