Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (Remote)

Our client, a leading provider of specialized cleaning solutions and safety compliance services, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join their dynamic remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to stringent safety regulations and implementing best practices across various client sites. You will be instrumental in developing, managing, and auditing comprehensive safety programs, focusing on occupational health, hazardous material handling, and emergency preparedness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, developing corrective action plans, delivering safety training materials virtually, and maintaining accurate safety documentation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States, with occasional travel potentially required for site assessments. Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust EHS policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards. Conduct thorough risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Design and deliver engaging EHS training programs to employees at all levels, utilizing various virtual platforms. Maintain comprehensive EHS records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation. Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Act as a subject matter expert on EHS matters, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external clients. Perform internal audits and participate in external regulatory inspections. Contribute to the development of sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety management. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations. Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to effectively train and influence diverse audiences remotely. Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Relevant certifications such as CSP, CIH, or ASP are highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
