Position Overview

  • Job Title: Remote-Enabled Pharmacy Data Entry Technician – Prescription Verification & Order Processing Specialist

  • Location: Irving, Texas (initial on-site training) with transition to full-time remote work
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly
  • Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Overtime: Mandatory overtime begins in January as seasonal demand increases
  • Training Period: 2–3 weeks on-site in Irving, TX before remote transition

Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with the accurate and timely processing of prescription data that directly impacts patient care. Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Entering new prescriptions into the pharmacy management system with a high degree of accuracy, following all federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Verifying prescription data, including patient demographics, medication names, dosages, sig codes, and prescriber information, to ensure completeness and correctness before fulfillment.
  • Resolving moderately complex data discrepancies using sound judgment, clinical awareness, and established protocols, and providing recommendations to pharmacists and supervisors when escalation is required.
  • Processing refill requests, prior authorization documentation, and prescription transfers in accordance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Reviewing and correcting rejected claims, missing information, and incomplete orders, collaborating with internal teams and external providers as needed.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in full compliance with HIPAA regulations and arenaflex privacy policies.
  • Receiving routine data entry tasks independently and following general instructions when assigned new projects, process changes, or system upgrades.
  • Demonstrating consistent attendance and reliability, particularly during the first 90 days of employment, which are considered a foundational period for long-term success at arenaflex.
  • Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and quality benchmarks while maintaining a patient-first mindset in every interaction.

What You Will Bring to arenaflex

arenaflex is looking for a candidate who combines technical skill, regulatory knowledge, and a deep commitment to accuracy. The following qualifications are required for consideration:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License (required).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a pharmacy, data intake, prescription processing, or related healthcare role.
  • Prescription Literacy: Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and transcribe prescriptions accurately, including an understanding of common sig abbreviations, dosage forms, and therapeutic classifications.
  • Data Entry Proficiency: Excellent typing speed and accuracy, with strong familiarity using pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, and standard office software.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail with the ability to detect errors, inconsistencies, and omissions in complex data sets.
  • Reliability: A strong commitment to consistent attendance and punctuality, particularly during the initial 90-day employment period and mandatory overtime cycles.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following attributes will help you stand out as an exceptional candidate:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
  • Prior remote work experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or data-centric environment.
  • Experience working in a high-volume pharmacy setting such as mail-order, specialty, long-term care, or retail chain operations.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) systems, insurance adjudication processes, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Bilingual communication skills, particularly Spanish/English, to better serve a diverse patient population.
