Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, cleanse, and analyze large data sets from pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), health plans, and third‑party vendors.
  • Develop and maintain advanced pricing and underwriting models using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, SUMIFS, formula auditing, and error troubleshooting).
  • Leverage intermediate‑level Microsoft Access, SAS, and SQL skills to query complex data tables, create parameterized queries, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Track, report, and recommend process improvements that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of pricing mechanisms.
  • Identify pricing anomalies, conduct root‑cause analysis, and propose actionable solutions to internal stakeholders.
  • Support internal business partners—including finance, reporting, operations, business development, and sales—with data‑driven insights on pricing for retail, specialty, immunizations, and clinic services.
  • Prepare senior‑level executive documentation (e.g., Executive Governance Memos) that clearly articulates pricing recommendations, financial impact, and strategic rationale.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment of pricing models with broader business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous learning initiatives, staying current on industry trends, actuarial methods, and emerging analytics technologies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Actuarial Science, or Pharmacoeconomics. Alternatively, a high school diploma/GED combined with at least three years of relevant experience in PBM, contracting, finance, account management, or pricing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data, business metrics, and operational processes within a health‑care or pharmacy setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proven track record of interpreting data to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex analyses to senior leadership in a clear, concise manner.
