[Remote] DevOps & Release Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is seeking a DevOps & Release Engineering Manager to lead modern software delivery practices while being actively involved in engineering execution. This role will focus on team leadership, release oversight, and strengthening CI/CD capabilities across cloud and hybrid environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the direction and day-to-day operation of CI/CD platforms across GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Copado for Salesforce, and related hybrid delivery environments
- Design, execute, and resolve issues within complex production releases, using an automation-focused approach to improve speed, consistency, and stability
- Manage and mentor a small team of DevOps professionals, providing technical guidance, coaching, and hands-on support while developing team capability
- Drive enterprise release planning activities by coordinating schedules, evaluating deployment risk, and maintaining strong governance and audit readiness
- Define and prioritize the roadmap, backlog, and overall strategy for DevOps and release engineering capabilities based on business value and operational risk
- Oversee Salesforce deployment practices, including environment planning, release coordination, seasonal platform updates, and pipeline automation
- Support modernization initiatives involving delivery tooling and platform changes, ensuring transitions are implemented with minimal disruption to active releases
- Contribute directly to engineering work through infrastructure automation, deployment optimization, and troubleshooting across cloud-native systems
Skills
- 5-8 years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- 3-5 years of experience leading teams, including direct people management and technical coaching responsibilities
- Demonstrated expertise building and managing CI/CD workflows using platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Salesforce deployment tools
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible in support of scalable, automated delivery environments
- Proven ability to manage high-impact releases, assess risk, and enforce structured release governance in enterprise settings
- Experience owning technical roadmaps or product backlogs for platform, DevOps, or release management functions
- Solid understanding of Salesforce release models, environment strategy, and deployment automation best practices
