Related Affordable has an exciting career growth opportunity for an Affordable Housing Regulatory Compliance Specialist within our dynamic team. This remote position must be located in California, reporting to the Director of Compliance. The ideal candidate is a detail oriented individual accustomed to working on a deadline driven schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring Related Affordable is operating in compliance with all affordable housing program guidelines (LIHTC, PBS8, PBV, RAD, etc.), regulatory agreements, and company policies and procedures. This person must have the ability to function autonomously while also working in conjunction with coworkers located in other areas of the country. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Monitor and implement changes in HUD and LITHC regulations and other state and local requirements Maintaining proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulations Independently review and approve move-in and transfer files to ensure applicants meet income and program eligibility criteria Review initial qualifying files for accuracy and program compliance and submit to third-party reviewers; Track qualification status and works with the Director of Compliance to provide clear and accurate reporting on lease-ups, move-ins, etc. Review completed recertification to ensure program compliance Perform both onsite and remote audits to confirm compliance with program requirement through follow-up and closure Monitor waitlists, LAP plans and EIV master binders for compliance with federal and state regulations Review and submit responses for LIHTC file audits and MORs; coordinate with affordable programming and site teams to get corrections Submit and assist in the drafting and review of timely responses to agency audits; coordinate with Affordable Programming as needed Hold weekly office hours to assist the operations teams with questions, file corrections and audit corrections Remain familiar with current U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ever changing Federal Regulations as they relate to Affordable Housing programs Audit proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulations Assist analysts with annual reporting as needed Other duties as assigned WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE: Lots of paid time off (19+ days!) – we value your life outside of work Customizable total rewards package – pick from our medical, vision and dental options, along with our life insurance and an Employee Assistance Program Financial wellness perks to set you up for success - such as 401(k), FSA & HSA, employer-paid life and AD&D insurance; paid leave & disability programs Mental health resources, such as counseling, are available to our team members Fertility benefits – such as surrogacy, adoption assistance and more! ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $75K - $90K per year Plus annual performance bonus Exempt position This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position. Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience with Project Based Section 8 HUD, LIHTC and other affordable housing programs is required Knowledge of HUD 4350.3, EIV, Reasonable Accommodation Requests, LIHTC income limits and rent calculations, Fair Housing, Real Estate Licensing A deep sense of community awareness and a determination to make improvements Proven ability to build trust with members of a community with different backgrounds, motivations, and concerns in order to obtain information and solve problems COS certification minimum required, HCCP preferred Ability to travel at least once per month, as well as, on an as needed basis (may include up to 30% travel) #RAJobs #LI-AB1
