Advanced Analytics & Optimization Manager at arenaflex

About arenaflex and the Opportunity Ahead

At arenaflex, we believe that the most powerful business decisions are born from the marriage of curiosity, data, and creativity. We are a forward-thinking organization dedicated to helping global brands understand the true impact of their marketing investments, sales initiatives, and broader commercial strategies. Our culture is built on the principle that behind every great experience lies a story driven by insight, and behind every insight lies a rigorous analytical framework. If you are a naturally inquisitive professional who is passionate about uncovering the business behind the magic, arenaflex invites you to bring your expertise to a team that values precision, partnership, and innovation.

The role we are hiring for is a part-time, fully remote position designed for an experienced analytics professional who thrives on solving complex marketing and consumer engagement challenges. You will join a high-caliber team that develops state-of-the-art statistical models, builds sophisticated forecasting programs, and delivers strategic insight into how global marketing investments shape consumer behavior and business outcomes. Working from the comfort of your home, you will partner with senior leaders, marketing strategists, and sales executives to translate raw data into clear, actionable recommendations that move the needle for our clients.

This is not a typical data entry role. It is a part-time remote opportunity for an analytically minded professional who wants to apply advanced statistical methodologies, machine learning techniques, and marketing mix modeling to real-world commercial problems. At arenaflex, you will have the autonomy to lead modeling initiatives while collaborating with a diverse team of experts who are as passionate about numbers as they are about storytelling.

Role Overview

As the Advanced Analytics & Optimization Manager at arenaflex, you will serve as an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Domestic Markets Media Analytics. You will be responsible for designing and executing advanced analytical models that quantify the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, optimize media spend, and forecast future performance across multiple business units. Your work will directly influence multi-million-dollar investment decisions and will be presented to senior leadership on a regular basis.

You will play a central role in our Consumer Insight, Measurement & Analytics function, supporting the broader strategy of enabling data-driven, consumer-centric decision-making. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys blending the rigor of statistical science with the art of business communication, and who is excited by the prospect of working in a flexible, remote environment for a company that respects work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Marketing Mix Models: Build robust marketing mix models (MMM) for a diverse portfolio of business units, capturing the incremental impact of media channels, pricing strategies, promotional activity, and external macroeconomic factors on sales and consumer engagement.
  • Translate Model Outputs into Strategic Insights: Convert complex statistical outputs into clear, compelling narratives that help business partners understand historical media performance, identify trends, and make forward-looking investment decisions.
  • Deliver Insightful Analytic Presentations: Prepare and deliver productive, consultative presentations to senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, marketing leaders, and sales directors. Your presentations should always lead with the business question, supported by rigorous data analysis.
  • Build Custom Statistical Models: Design and implement additional statistical models beyond MMM to address specific business problems such as customer segmentation, lifetime value forecasting, attribution analysis, and campaign optimization.
  • Lead Exploratory Data Analysis: Conduct deep-dive exploratory data analysis to surface hidden patterns, validate data quality, and generate hypotheses that inform model design and business strategy.
  • Execute Data Mining Initiatives: Under the guidance of senior leadership, design and roll out data mining projects that benefit the broader analytics organization, identifying opportunities to improve methodologies, automate processes, and expand the scope of insights delivered.
  • Partner with Global Marketing & Sales: Serve as a trusted analytical partner to the Global Marketing & Sales Organization, helping them interpret model results, pressure-test assumptions, and integrate insights into their planning cycles and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain Documentation and Best Practices: Document modeling approaches, assumptions, and code in a clear, reproducible manner. Contribute to the development of internal best practices for analytics at arenaflex.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience applying diverse analytic, data mining, and machine learning methodologies, including but not limited to multivariate regression, mixed models, clustering techniques, time series regression, and forecasting.
  • Strong proficiency in R or Python for data mining, statistical modeling, and exploratory data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to summarize and present sophisticated analytics to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and experience querying large datasets using SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, engineering, or operations research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building models at high scalability using R or Python, including the use of cloud-based computing environments and parallel processing techniques.
  • Prior work experience within a media agency, advertising firm, or analytics consulting organization.
  • Working knowledge of marketing or media mix modeling, including the ability to interpret ROI, contribution, and saturation curves.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced data mining and statistical methodologies, with a track record of publishing or presenting analytical findings.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in statistics, mathematics, economics, data mining, computer science, engineering, or operations research.
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.

Essential Skills and Competencies

To succeed in this role at arenaflex, you will need a balanced combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Analytically Rigorous: You take pride in the accuracy and reproducibility of your work, and you are comfortable defending your methodological choices in front of critical stakeholders.
  • Business Curious: You don't just want to build models; you want to understand the business decisions they support. You ask "why" before "how."
  • A Strong Communicator: You can distill complexity into clarity. Your slides tell a story, and your data visualizations guide the eye to what matters most.
  • Self-Directed: As a remote, part-time contributor, you thrive with autonomy. You manage your own time, deliver on commitments, and proactively communicate progress and blockers.
  • A Collaborative Partner: You build trust with colleagues across functions, geographies, and seniority levels. You listen actively, incorporate feedback, and elevate the work of those around you.
  • Comfortable with Ambiguity: Business problems rarely come neatly packaged. You enjoy the challenge of structuring open-ended questions and designing analytical approaches to answer them.

Career Growth and Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, we believe that great analysts never stop learning. As a part-time member of our team, you will have access to a robust set of growth resources, including:

  • Mentorship from senior analytics leaders with deep experience in marketing mix modeling, media measurement, and consumer insights.
  • Opportunities to attend industry conferences, webinars, and training sessions to stay at the forefront of analytical methodology.
  • A flexible, project-based work structure that allows you to focus on deep, meaningful work without the burnout of a traditional full-time schedule.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of business units, industries, and analytical challenges, which will accelerate your development as a well-rounded analytics professional.
  • Potential pathways to expanded responsibilities, project leadership roles, or full-time positions as the team and your career evolve.
