Position Overview

The External Support Engineer serves as the primary liaison between arenaflex’s external content creation teams and the internal tools engineering group. You will be the first point of contact when content teams encounter challenges with the suite of production tools, translating their needs into actionable feedback for our developers. This role blends technical troubleshooting, user education, and cross‑functional collaboration, ensuring that our creators can work efficiently, creatively, and without interruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Training: Develop clear reference guides, video tutorials, and live training sessions to accelerate onboarding and ongoing skill development for external partners.
  • Issue Diagnosis & Resolution: Diagnose, debug, and resolve tool‑related problems, employing systematic troubleshooting methods to minimize downtime.
  • Escalation Management: Identify complex or high‑impact issues, log them in arenaflex’s issue‑tracking system, and collaborate with the tool development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Advocacy & Feedback Loop: Champion the needs of external teams by gathering feedback, suggesting workflow enhancements, and presenting actionable recommendations to product engineers.
  • Tool & Process Innovation: Partner with internal engineers to prototype new features, streamline existing processes, and improve overall tool reliability and performance.
  • Cross‑Disciplinary Collaboration: Lead or contribute to interdisciplinary discussions that guide feature concepts from ideation through deployment.
  • Professional Excellence: Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a high standard of professionalism in all interactions, both internal and external.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Tool Support Experience: Prior experience supporting live services or tool environments, preferably in a fast‑paced, production‑oriented setting.
  • Technical Foundations: Ability to read and understand C# code, enabling effective communication with development teams.
  • arenaflex Tool Development Exposure: Hands‑on experience with arenaflex’s internal tool development platform (formerly known as Unity 3D) and a solid grasp of its workflow.
  • Issue‑Tracking Proficiency: Familiarity with arenaflex’s issue‑tracking and documentation systems (formerly Jira and Confluence) for logging, prioritizing, and communicating bugs.
  • Mobile Development Insight: Experience with arenaflex mobile development (formerly iOS and Android) to understand platform‑specific constraints and opportunities.
  • Production‑Level Coding: At least five years of delivering production‑ready code in a professional environment, demonstrating a commitment to quality and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Positive, solution‑focused attitude and a willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of juggling multiple requests, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Self‑motivation and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
