[Remote] Software Engineer (Backend)

They are seeking a Backend Engineer to design and scale the systems that power their products, focusing on building APIs, services, and ensuring system reliability and performance as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support Collate’s products
• Ensure systems are performant, secure, and reliable at scale
• Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to turn ideas into production-ready features
• Build internal tools and workflows that accelerate engineering productivity
• Continuously improve backend architecture to support rapid growth and new capabilities

Skills

• Experience designing and scaling backend systems in production
• Strong skills in building APIs and services, with attention to reliability and performance
• Comfort working across the stack when needed, with a focus on backend depth
• Ability to move quickly while building for long-term maintainability
