Actuarial Analyst II - Life Chief Actuary
Lincoln Financial is an established company that helps individuals plan for their financial futures through various products. As an Actuarial Analyst II in the Life Chief Actuary department, you will support cash flow modeling, perform data analysis, and ensure model accuracy while collaborating with team members to enhance processes and potentially manage interns.
Responsibilities
- Provide support producing cash flow model projections used for asset adequacy testing, asset liability management, duration targets, other ad hoc internal needs
- Perform data analysis and calculations for consistency and reasonableness to support broader actuarial deliverables
- Ensure model accuracy by performing static and dynamic validations
- Support preparation of regulatory reports, such as the actuarial opinion and memorandum
- Develop familiarity with Lincoln’s portfolio of life insurance products and reinsurance arrangements
- Introduce and encourage innovation, improvements, and efficiencies in current processes where possible
- Maintain and enhance model control and documentation processes
- Collaborate with team members and peers across department functions to assist with problem solving and sharing ideas
- Potential to manage a summer intern by providing guidance on projects and fostering professional development
Skills
- Minimum of 4 actuarial exams passed
- 1 to 4+ years of actuarial experience
- 1 prior actuarial rotation
- General life insurance product knowledge
- Understanding of income statements, balance sheets, and financial projections
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and meet firm deadlines
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with actuarial modeling software, particularly MG-ALFA/Integrate
- Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Dataiku, Tableau)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with artificial intelligence tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
- History of innovation and process improvement
