Position Overview

As a Senior Revenue Accounting & Data Analytics Specialist at arenaflex, you will operate at the critical intersection of technical accounting and data engineering. This is not a traditional back-office accounting position. You will serve as the go-to expert for revenue-related data architecture, partnering closely with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Your work will directly influence the integrity of our financial reporting, the efficiency of our revenue close process, and the design of systems that support a rapidly growing business.

You will analyze large volumes of transactional data using SQL and Python, perform deep-dive revenue analytics, design intricate process flows, and contribute to the development of automated journal entry frameworks. In short, you will help us transform how revenue accounting is done at arenaflex — faster, smarter, and built to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Operational Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and business owners to evaluate, design, and implement accounting policies, processes, and system improvements.
• Develop and document comprehensive accounting data requirements that enable seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring precision, completeness, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Lead functional improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining revenue operations and shortening the monthly revenue close timeline.
• Monitor data quality for journal entries generated through the Revenue Subledger, and design robust Data Quality checks tied to accounting requirements, ad hoc analyses, and new product launches.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to continuously enhance the daily Revenue Reconciliation process, including management of reconciliation analytics in coordination with the analytics team.
• Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance Review sessions, assess the accounting implications, and determine whether new requirements must be built into the Revenue Subledger.
• Cross-collaborate with partner teams on journal entry flows for both new and existing products to enable automation through the Revenue Subledger.
• Execute monthly revenue accounting close activities, including GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, journal entry reviews, and close package validations.
• Perform ad hoc analyses, special projects, and strategic financial investigations as assigned by leadership.

Essential Qualifications

• A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in revenue accounting, data analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with specific expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with demonstrated ability to query, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of transactional data.
• Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation purposes.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to adapt to evolving priorities and shifting business environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of management, both internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a publicly traded company or a fast-paced technology organization.
• Familiarity with revenue subledger systems, ERP platforms (such as NetSuite, Workday, or Oracle), and modern data warehousing tools (such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).
• Experience supporting product launches from an accounting and systems perspective.
• Comfort working in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
