What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Member Services Representative on the Payments and Digital Strategy team, your day-to-day work will be dynamic, detail-oriented, and deeply rewarding. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Data Entry and Reconciliation: Accurately complete data entry tasks and perform detailed balancing functions to ensure all financial records are precise and up-to-date.
  • Return Item Coordination: Coordinate returned items efficiently with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other financial institutions, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide essential assistance to other departments on matters involving fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related accounting general ledger balancing.
  • Case and Task Management: Work member cases and assigned tasks with diligence, ensuring each one is handled with the highest level of accuracy and care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow and uphold established guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations, Federal Banking laws, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Payment Processing: Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and various check types, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks.
  • Digital Product Review: Review, analyze, and approve Remote Deposit Capture, Mobile Banking, ATM, and other image-enabled product transactions.
  • Account Adjustments: Log, research, and execute necessary General Ledger entries, account changes, and returns as required.
  • Stop Payments and Check Batching: Process Stop Pay requests and handle check batching operations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Daily Reconciliation: Complete daily balancing procedures and ensure proper department closing protocols are followed.
  • Wire Transfer Support: Obtain necessary information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests, researching and verifying all related data.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicate effectively with vendors to facilitate the processing of fund transfers and resolve any related issues.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of incoming and outgoing fund transfer rules and regulations, including international remittance requirements.
  • Specialized Processing: Handle deposit check returns, research member returned checks on draft changes, process member checks, verify members for outgoing fund transfers, and coordinate with the Federal Reserve for verification and release of fund transfers.
  • Workflow Management: Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, receipt delivery, foreign collections, and legal fee processing.
  • Confidentiality and Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all accounts and related data encountered during your work, maintaining full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

What You Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer service or member services, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively and resolve concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Banking or Credit Union Experience: Familiarity with banking operations or credit union environments, including an understanding of financial products and member-focused services.
  • Core Banking Systems: Hands-on experience with Episys/Symitar core processing systems and wire transfer processing platforms.
