Actuarial Analyst
California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking a dynamic Actuarial Analyst for the Financial Surveillance Branch. The role involves reviewing companies' Principle Based Reserving documentation and evaluating life insurance company reserve techniques based on PBR methodology.
Responsibilities
- Review companies' Principle Based Reserving (PBR) documentation to ensure it reflects PBR standards and appropriate assumptions and methods
- Evaluate life insurance company deterministic reserve and stochastic reserve techniques based on PBR methodology

- Resume
- Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov
- At least 1 actuarial exam passed
- 0.5 to 3 years of work experience, preferably in an actuarial or analytical position
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Familiar with actuarial and statistical modeling methods, as well as computer programming languages
- Strong analytical and communication skills; able to multi-task and work independently
- Willing to travel and stay overnight
- BA/BS in actuarial science, math, statistics, computer science, or other quantitative discipline
