About the Role

As a Senior Staff Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and improving our products while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and analysts across a wide range of challenges. This position carries scientific rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of product development, growth, and improvement—with a deep appreciation for the behaviors of end users.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions that need answers. Provide feedback to translate and refine business questions into tractable analyses, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models.
• Design and develop solutions using custom data infrastructure or existing data models as appropriate, leveraging specialized technical expertise. Create and compare models to mathematically specify and resolve defined problems with limited precedent.
• Acquire data and business context by understanding requirements, priorities, and organizational context around the questions to be answered, as well as the present and upcoming data infrastructure.
• Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data from multiple sources through applicable tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Independently format, reshape, and/or validate data to ensure quality, and evaluate the dataset to ensure it is ready for analysis.
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis to extract insights from large datasets and translate findings into actionable product recommendations.
• Develop predictive models and algorithms that drive product improvements and business outcomes.
• Communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of the analytics community within arenaflex.
• Drive innovation by exploring new analytical approaches, tools, and methodologies that can advance arenaflex's data science capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, or statistical analysis.
• Alternatively, 8 years of work experience with a Ph.D. degree in a relevant quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, or similar).
• Experience with SQL and database querying.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, or statistical analysis.
• Alternatively, 10 years of work experience with a Ph.D. degree in a relevant quantitative field.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing systems.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their practical applications.
• Background in product analytics or user experience research.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies.
• Proven track record of driving measurable business impact through data-driven insights.

Skills and Competencies

• Statistical Analysis: Expertise in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design.
• Programming: Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis and modeling.

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $216,000 - $317,000 + bonus + equity + comprehensive benefits. Our salary levels are determined by function, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant training or education.
