Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Ground Maintenance Technician to join arenaflex's Ground Backing Gear (GSE) division in Colorado. This full‑time role focuses on the inspection, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of a diverse fleet of ground support equipment, including motorized vehicles, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and safety devices. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of skilled technicians, engineers, and operations staff to ensure that all equipment meets the highest standards of performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on GSE assets such as trucks, tugs, baggage carts, and specialized handling equipment.
  • Maintain and service mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with arenaflex’s rigorous safety protocols.
  • Execute bodywork, painting, and structural repairs to keep equipment in optimal condition and extend service life.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately in arenaflex’s work order system, providing clear reports for supervisors and cross‑functional teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including operations managers, safety officers, and parts procurement—to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Adhere to environmentally responsible practices, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and energy‑efficient work methods.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions, reinforcing a culture of zero‑incident operations.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, contributing ideas that enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technicians, sharing knowledge of diagnostic techniques and best practices.
  • Respond to emergency service calls, working flexible hours—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to support critical airport operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aviation Maintenance Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands‑on experience maintaining motorized ground support equipment in an aviation or similar high‑tempo environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift and maneuver loads up to 70 lb, with occasional heavier lifts performed safely using equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to personal and team safety, with a clean safety record and willingness to follow all arenaflex safety guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, and on‑call schedules as operational needs dictate.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as A&P (Airframe & Powerplant), FAA GSE Maintenance, or equivalent industry credentials.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting, including the use of pressure gauges and flow meters.
  • Familiarity with electronic control modules, PLC programming, and diagnostic software tools.
  • Knowledge of environmentally sustainable maintenance practices, such as recycling of fluids and energy‑saving procedures.
  • Previous experience in a unionized aviation environment and understanding of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small project teams or serve as a shift lead.
