Position Overview

As a Remote Payments Analyst at arenaflex, you will play an integral role in supporting the administration of key seller connections, conducting business reviews with payment card organizations, and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership. Your work will directly influence strategic decision-making, financial forecasting, and compliance monitoring across the organization. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data for executive presentations, performing daily investigations that impact business performance, and partnering with various teams and stakeholders to drive operational excellence. Additionally, you will have the chance to learn, maintain, and leverage automated reporting processes, use data modeling to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), and assist in resolving payment card network compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seller Relationship Administration: Support the administration of key seller connections, including attending monthly and quarterly business reviews with payment card organizations to maintain strong partnerships and ensure alignment on performance metrics.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze financial data for presentations to senior management, including recurring payment statistics and performance dashboards that inform executive decision-making.
  • Daily Investigations & Performance Monitoring: Perform daily examinations that may impact business performance and decisioning, collaborating with various analysts and stakeholders as needed to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Automated Reporting: Learn, maintain, and leverage automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting across the Payments Team and the Financial Services Division.
  • Data Modeling & Visualization: Use data modeling techniques to demonstrate the performance of business KPIs, transforming raw data into clear, compelling visual narratives for stakeholders.
  • Compliance Support: Assist in the resolution and monitoring of payment card network compliance issues, ensuring that arenaflex adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Project Support & Mentorship: Provide project support and guidance to other team members, reviewing and adjusting their project plans and decisions on a case-by-case basis as needed.
  • Ad Hoc Requests & Special Projects: Satisfy ad hoc requests and complete special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting evolving business needs.
  • Continuous Skill Development: Acquire new skill sets as needed to support the requirements of the Payments Team and the broader Financial Services Division, embracing a growth mindset.

Key Accountability Areas

Key Analysis & Problem Solving (25%)

Strive to thoroughly understand the business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Design and ensure execution of financial division objectives. Be responsible for preparing the annual private label credit card budget for all products and business lines. Lead financial forecasting capabilities and make appropriate recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven insights.

Strategic System Development (25%)

Develop strategies that integrate financial products and services into core businesses and new key initiatives. Own and manage projects to ensure timely completion and the highest quality standards. Create and execute detailed project plans and implementation strategies that align with organizational goals.

Data Insights & Team Leadership (25%)

Gather and analyze data for presentations to senior management. Provide project support and guidance to other team members. Review and adjust or approve their project plans and decisions on a case-by-case basis, serving as a trusted resource within the team.

Project Evaluation & Performance Analysis (25%)

Evaluate financial and operational or quality results of new projects against predetermined goals. Determine whether projects should be implemented, make recommendations to senior management, and, if applicable, assist in developing execution strategies to ensure successful outcomes.

Reporting Structure & Travel Requirements

This position typically reports to the Senior Manager of Payments or the Director of Payments. There are no direct reports associated with this role, making it an ideal opportunity for an individual contributor who wants to focus on analytical excellence and project execution.

Travel is minimal for this position, with overnight travel typically required less than 10% of the time. Most of your work will be conducted remotely from your home office, with occasional virtual meetings and team collaborations.

Physical & Working Conditions

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunities to move about. Occasionally, there may be a need to move or lift light objects. You will be situated in a comfortable indoor area, and any unpleasant conditions would be rare and not objectionable. As a remote employee, you will need a quiet, dedicated workspace with reliable internet connectivity.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Employment Type: Full-time position with standard work hours of 8 hours per day.
  • Location: Remote (Work From Home), with alignment to Atlanta, USA business hours.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in financial services, payments, or related fields is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
