Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant- Remote Weekend On-Call & Telemedicine
Remote Weekend On-Call & Telemedicine Provider (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant) Mid-Atlantic Long Term Care (MALTC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing weekend on-call team supporting long-term care communities throughout Virginia. This is a fully remote position that combines telemedicine visits and telephone triage support, allowing providers to assist residents and facility staff from home while helping to deliver timely care and reduce unnecessary hospital transfers. Position Details: Position: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Location: Remote (Work From Home) Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Job Type: Part-Time / Weekend Coverage Compensation: $40,000 – $65,000 annually Responsibilities:
- Provide on-call clinical support to nursing staff in Assisted Living, Long Term Care, and Skilled Nursing communities
- Conduct telemedicine evaluations when clinically appropriate
- Assess acute changes in condition and provide treatment recommendations
- Review laboratory and diagnostic results as needed
- Collaborate with facility nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams
- Assist with timely interventions to help prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations
- Document telemedicine encounters and clinical communications in the Electronic Medical Record
- Support continuity of care and communication with primary providers
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (required)
- DEA license required
- Experience in geriatrics, long-term care, primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable providing both telemedicine services and telephone triage support
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
