Structural Engineer - Renewables
DLR Group is an integrated design firm dedicated to enhancing the human experience through design. They are seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to participate in the design process of structural systems for their Renewable Energy division, preparing detailed engineering drawings and calculations for renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies
- Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction
- Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives
- Coordinate structural design requirements with other disciplines and project stakeholders of renewable energy projects
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
- Master's Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering
- Previous internship, co-op experience, or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
- Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow
- Interest in renewable energy design, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging stations, solar canopies, microgrids, and specialty energy systems
- Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc)
