Job Details We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Medical Billing Virtual Assistant to join our team. This role involves managing billing processes, processing insurance claims, and ensuring accurate financial records for healthcare providers. The successful candidate will handle billing inquiries, verify insurance coverage, and support the financial operations of the healthcare practice. This position is for pooling purposes only. Candidates with experience are encouraged to apply. We accept VAs who are looking for a full-time or part-time position. We consider your preferred work schedule. This is either for voice or non-voice positions. Key Responsibilities - Process and submit insurance claims accurately and timely. - Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. - Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims. - Ensure compliance with billing regulations and healthcare standards. - Address billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies. - Update and maintain patient billing records. - Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve payment issues. - Generate and review billing reports for accuracy and completeness. - Assist with coding diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes. - Stay current with changes in insurance policies and billing regulations. Experience in Any of These Applications/Software - Medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, Medisoft) - Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) - Practice management software (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) - Coding software (e.g., EncoderPro, 3M CodeFinder) - Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce) Bookkeeper Requirements (minimum) - Associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field. - Additional certification or training in medical billing and coding. Preferred skills - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems. - Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. - Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. - Familiarity with healthcare regulations and insurance policies. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
