This position has a home-based office from an approved location in the Midwest. Your Background • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or five or more years of experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, budgeting, and cash flow. • Firm understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles • Strong MS Office skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong ability to identify process improvements Day-to-Day • 3+ years' of professional accounting experience • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. • Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide explanations for variances. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Assist in audits, both internal and external, and provide necessary documentation and explanations. • Assist with diverse spending initiatives and prepare diverse spending calculations. • Complete business and tax registrations • WBE applications and renewals • Assist with business insurance renewals. • Manage the 1099 process. • Complete Worker’s Compensation audits • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and systems, making recommendations for efficiency and effectiveness. • Provide support and backup for the Accounting Associate. About You • Interest in the energy efficiency industry and passion for sustainability • Strong interpersonal skills • Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Exceptional organizational skills. • Ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and demands. • Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated.
