Lead Cosmetic Chemist
Our client, a renowned innovator in the beauty and wellness sector, is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Cosmetic Chemist to join their state-of-the-art product development facility in Raleigh, North Carolina, US . This exciting role will be at the forefront of formulating and developing groundbreaking cosmetic and personal care products. You will lead a team of chemists and formulators, driving innovation from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of cosmetic ingredients, formulation science, stability testing, and regulatory compliance within the beauty industry. Your responsibilities will include developing new product formulations, optimizing existing ones, and ensuring product efficacy, safety, and sensory appeal. You will conduct rigorous stability and compatibility testing, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and scale-up processes from laboratory to production. Collaboration with marketing, R&D, and manufacturing teams is essential to bring innovative products to market successfully. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing essential laboratory and team collaboration with focused remote work. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field is required, with significant hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation. A minimum of 6 years of experience in cosmetic product development is essential, with demonstrable leadership experience. Proficiency in analytical techniques, knowledge of INCI nomenclature, and familiarity with global cosmetic regulations (e.g., FDA, EU regulations) are crucial.
