The Microsoft Developer portfolio spans across Azure Developer Services, GitHub/Azure DevOps and Visual Studio.As the Solution Sales Specialist for Azure Developer Audience, you will act as a technical sales professional within our enterprise sales organization with a special focus on Development workloads (Azure Developer Services, GitHub/Azure DevOps, Visual Studio). You are seen as a key member of the virtual team responsible for building a compelling strategy for growing the Developer share within key accounts in both revenue and Azure consumption. You will engage in executive conversation both in and outside of technical teams to provide customers with insights and solutions leveraging the Microsoft Developer Platform and Developer Services offerings that drive business transformation through key technologies.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.   • You will be the key sales leader and influencer in shaping customer decisions to buy, build and transform new markets and lead transformational shifts in our customers.
  • You will lead and challenge customers with clear strategic vision of Modern Engineering practices using the Microsoft and GitHub Platforms.
  • You will orchestrate and lead Microsoft's field team to win the Microsoft and GitHub development platform solution sales opportunities.
  • You will develop, communicate, and provide high business impact solutions that enable digital transformation.
  • You will be a leader of the sales opportunity team, disciplined in business-management and build an active business network to meet and exceed sales targets and operational standards.
  • You will influence the Microsoft and GitHub go-to-market strategies by providing feedback to sales, marketing, and engineering on current and future product requirements and sales blockers you encounter.
QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 3+ years experience in one or more of the following:
    • Application development platforms on public clouds and/or Azure in development languages (i.e. Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C#, Node.JS targeting Linux, Windows, public clouds, or Azure).
    • DevOps practices, including continuous planning/Agile, CI/CD, quality, and security with DevOps toolchains (i.e., Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian).
    • Integrated development environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, XCode, WebSphere) targeting Linux, Windows, public clouds (i.e. Azure, AWS, Google).
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • Prior work experience in a Program Manager or Engagement Manager position focused on Cloud and software/services solution.
  • Certification in sales, sales management, complex sales training, sales methodologies, broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), and consultative selling.
  • Experience in supporting highly distributed applications
  • Executive Function:
    • Account Management. Proven record of effective account management: planning, engagement qualification and creation, stakeholder, and executive communication, needs analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, pipeline management, large dollar licensing and deal negotiation. Discover new opportunities and expand consumption in named accounts to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual consumption targets.
    • Executive Presence. Leadership and confidence required to challenge customer status quo. Demonstrated experience and expertise selling to senior business decision makers by aligning & reinforcing the value of the solution to the customer’s overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities and decision criteria.
    • Collaborative. Ability to orchestrate and influence virtual teams to pursue sales opportunities and lead v-teams through influence. Develop and execute a territory sales and success plan, in partnership key stakeholders to reach and educate new developers, support pre-sales opportunities, and engage solution partners in your accounts.
    • Coaching. Training extended team in pipeline management, engagement management, and account planning.
    • Trusted advisor. Deep understanding of key competitive technologies and/or specific industries. The ability to articulate the advantages of Microsoft and GitHub technologies to C-Level and senior business decision makers. Execute a solution sales process that adds value to customers through commercial teaching to win the business and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Technical Function:
    • Technical passion. Passion for and experience working with the developer audience in implementation of process improvements need to successfully adopt App Migration/Modernization to cloud.
    • Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn all aspects of the software development lifecycle, GitHub and Microsoft products and tools, and the greater DevOps and DevSecOps industry.
    • Understanding of Data & AI technologies in context of app development (e.g., SQL and NoSQL Databases, Cognitive Service, Machine Learning etc.).
    • Knowledge of the competitive landscape in cloud development platforms solutions.
Solution Area Specialists IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $82,400 - $146,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $111,700 - $159,800 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
