Vice President, Commercial Banking

This senior leadership role is responsible for driving business growth, managing a portfolio of commercial clients, and overseeing a team of banking professionals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve commercial banking growth objectives within the assigned market. Manage and expand a portfolio of commercial client relationships, providing tailored financial solutions. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach. Underwrite and approve commercial loans, ensuring compliance with risk management policies and regulatory requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial banking professionals, fostering a high-performance culture. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and community leaders. Collaborate with other departments within the bank to offer a comprehensive suite of financial products and services. Monitor market trends and competitive activity, adjusting strategies as needed. Ensure adherence to all banking regulations and internal policies. Represent the bank positively in community and industry events. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial banking, with a significant portion in relationship management and business development. Proven track record of successfully growing a commercial loan portfolio and achieving sales targets. Strong understanding of commercial lending, credit analysis, and risk assessment. Excellent leadership, team management, and coaching skills. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Proficiency in financial analysis and banking software. Knowledge of the Chicago market and its business landscape is a strong asset.
