Job title: High School/Middle School Choir Accompanist Company: Reeds Spring School District Job description: Reeds Spring School District is seeking an accompanist for the Middle School and High School choir program for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will accompany all choirs, with repertoire varying in style and difficulty. This position would require approximately a 2-3 hour time commitment per day, Tuesday through Friday. Scheduled additional days and times are required for performances. Reeds Spring School District functions on a 4-day school week and offers competitive pay. Qualifications: 1. Capable of preparing music to the point of proficiency prior to the first rehearsal. 2. Playing ability at, or above, accompanying high school musicians. 3. Proficient sight-reading skills. 4. Must submit and pass a background check. Performance responsibilities: 1. Comes to all rehearsals prepared on each group?s repertoire. 2. Is able to lead students in small sectionals. 3. Is flexible and positive in cooperating with the classroom teacher. 4. Attends and accompanies all performances, including but not limited to; concerts, festivals, district and state solo and ensemble events, and community outreach events.
