Staff Accountant
Heartland Consulting, a Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking exceptional professionals to support the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) Financial Management Directorate (FMG). You will directly advance warfighter readiness by modernizing financial operations, achieving standalone audit readiness, and delivering measurable efficiencies - all strictly within the USUHS environment and tools.
Job Summary Perform day-to-day account reconciliation and transaction processing that supports accurate financial statements and audit sample documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile accounts payable/receivable transactions.
- Maintain subsidiary ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
- Support audit sample gathering and documentation packaging.
- Assist with monthly close activities and data calls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Three (3) or more years of accounting experience (federal preferred).
- Detail-oriented with strong reconciliation skills.
- Secret clearance eligibility required.
