B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from accredited institution(s). Familiar with a Standard-Based System. Knowledge and experience with RTI/MTSS preferable. Strong interpersonal skills including collegiality and collaboration. Positive, enthusiastic, energetic and optimistic. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active, standards-based learning. Assess student progress and proficiency and adjust instruction accordingly. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate online instruction. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. Provide appropriate feedback on work. Maintain accurate and complete records of students? progress and development (PowerSchool). Participate in district professional development. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, needs and concerns. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. SALARY: Accepting all AK teaching experience for placement on scale, and up to six years of out-of-state experience. Starting at $50,292 (BA+0)- $84,778 (MA36+13); daily rates starting at $292.39 (BA+0) to $492.89 (MA36+13) based on a 172 contract. $10,000 Longevity Bonus after five-years continuous service, Subsidized Housing, Full Benefits Package. SCHOOL YEAR: August 23, 2023 to May 3, 2024. LPSD operates under a ?Subsistence Calendar? in which students receive 150 days of instruction and teachers work 172 days.
