Assistant Paralegal

Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell LLP is a law firm established in 1998, representing clients in high-stakes civil trials and litigation. The Assistant Paralegal will support the litigation team by managing case documents, preparing exhibits, and coordinating meetings while gaining hands-on experience in legal work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining case management systems in accordance with firm guidelines
  • Analyzing case documents to prepare subset compilations and indices for attorney review
  • Preparing exhibits and binders for depositions and trials
  • Drafting correspondence and professional email distributions
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and depositions
  • Assisting with collection and production of documents
  • Maintaining litigation databases and providing database search support
  • Conducting fact gathering research and assembling background information
  • Organizing client files and preparing working notebooks
  • Coordinating with his/her team to meet internal and client timeline requirements

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Paralegal certificate is preferred but not required
  • 1–2 years of prior litigation and/or professional office experience is a plus
