The Assistant, Business Development will provide administrative and operational support to the New York Office Business Development Department, including maintaining files, conducting research, and assisting with proposals and pitches.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and organizing department files and documents
  • Conducting research
  • Managing data entry
  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals and pitches
  • Supporting a variety of administrative tasks and special projects
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Assisting department with a variety of administrative tasks
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of pitches, proposals, and RFP responses
  • Coordinating bio updates, document signatures, print production, and proposal assembly
  • Conducting basic research, formatting, proofreading, and assisting in updating business development collateral
  • Assisting with database entry of NYO marketing/events activities
  • Managing files, spreadsheets, and folders related to pitch/RFP tracking
  • Handling scheduling and administrative tasks for Business Development & Marketing Department meetings
  • Processing invoices, placing orders, and maintaining Department-wide records
  • Managing ad requests related to charitable contributions
  • Coordinating logistics for in-house and virtual meetings
  • Demonstrating effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Managing Firm resources responsibly
  • Complying with and understanding Firm operation, policies, and procedures

Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Demonstrates flexibility, dependability, and time management skills to support multiple departments
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of one year of related administrative experience in a law firm or professional environment
