Business Development Specialist, Clinical Technology and AI Platforms

The Business Development Specialist, Clinical Technology and AI Platforms is responsible for identifying, developing, and advancing new business opportunities across EDETEK’s clinical technology, software, and platform offerings. This role operates at the intersection of sales, solution positioning, and client engagement, supporting revenue growth across pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs, and life sciences organizations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the clinical research ecosystem, demonstrates a consultative selling mindset, and can clearly articulate the value of technology-driven, AI-enabled solutions to diverse stakeholders. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Delivery teams to drive pipeline growth and long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

1. Business Development and Client Engagement

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, and healthcare markets.
  • Serve as a primary sponsor liaison, delivering responsive, high-quality customer engagement across the sales lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers to support new business, renewals, and expansion opportunities.
  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing client accounts.

2. Proposal, Budget, and Contract Development

  • Act as a central point of contact for drafting revenue-generating proposals, budgets, and estimates across all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Support the development of RFPs, RFIs, Statements of Work, Change Orders, and commercial proposals.
  • Ensure timely turnaround, typically within one to three business days, for key sales deliverables.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, and aligned with solution capabilities.

3. CRM, Pipeline, and Sales Operations

  • Leverage HubSpot CRM to manage leads, track opportunities, and drive consistent customer outreach and follow-up.
  • Serve as a custodian of the CRM pipeline, ensuring data accuracy, visibility, and active progression of opportunities.
  • Monitor sales activity trends and provide insights to support forecasting and pipeline reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement of sales workflows, reporting, and CRM utilization.

4. Marketing and Brand Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing on go-to-market initiatives, campaign execution, and targeted outreach strategies.
  • Support trade show planning, conference participation, and lead follow-up activities to drive demand generation.
  • Contribute to messaging that clearly communicates EDETEK’s differentiated value in clinical technology and AI-enabled platforms.
  • Provide market and customer feedback to inform positioning and content development.

5. Market Intelligence and Strategic Support

  • Stay current on trends in clinical research, clinical technology, AI in life sciences, and competitive offerings.
  • Provide market insights that inform sales strategy, solution development, and account targeting.
  • Support senior sales and leadership teams with account research, opportunity qualification, and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in business development, sales operations, or commercial roles within life sciences or technology-enabled services.
  • Experience identifying, developing, and nurturing client relationships that lead to qualified business opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, as well as marketing and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with proposal development processes including RFPs, RFIs, Statements of Work, and Change Orders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from pipeline, market, and customer data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree focus.
  • Advanced proficiency in English is required.
  • Limited travel of approximately 5 percent, with occasional weekend travel possible.
  • Regular cross-functional interaction with Sales, Marketing, Product, Delivery, and Leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical research, clinical technology, biostatistics, biometrics, or data-driven life sciences services.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled platforms, analytics solutions, or cloud-based software offerings.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or consultative sales models.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or biotechnology sponsor landscape.
