Scrum Master- SR 1

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a proactive and disciplined Scrum Master to drive Agile adoption within a Data Science team that currently has limited exposure to Agile and Scrum practices. The role will focus on establishing structured processes, improving team productivity, and ensuring smooth sprint execution without requiring constant supervision from leadership. You will work closely with a team of data scientists, bringing in best practices, enabling collaboration, and creating accountability across ceremonies and deliverables. This is a part-time role (approximately 10 hours per week) with working hours overlapping late evening IST (9:30 PM – 12:30 AM) to align with PT time zones. The engagement will start immediately, with strong potential for scope expansion based on performance and team scaling needs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master

• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies

• Proven ability to implement Agile practices in teams with little to no prior Scrum exposure

• Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably including Data Science teams (preferred)

• Ability to independently drive Agile ceremonies without requiring constant oversight

• Hands-on experience managing Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and ensuring overall sprint discipline

• Strong experience in maintaining and enforcing Jira board hygiene and workflows

• Ability to improve team productivity, accountability, and delivery timelines

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision

• Availability to work in overlapping US PT hours (9:30 PM – 12:30 AM IST)

• Ability to quickly understand team dynamics and implement structured processes

• Strong judgment and ownership in driving execution and team alignment

• Immediate or short notice availability preferred
