Overview
We are looking for a skilled Node.js Developer to join our product engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices for SaaS applications. You will work closely with frontend engineers, DevOps teams, and product managers to design and deliver high-performance, secure, and cloud-native backend systems.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Work with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AlloyDB (GCP)
- Build and integrate event-driven systems using message brokers:
- RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS
- GCP Pub/Sub
- Implement search and indexing solutions using Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
- Integrate third-party services (authentication, storage, payments, AI APIs, etc.)
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Implement authentication & authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)
- Design and implement caching strategies using Redis
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration
- Participate in code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
- Implement logging, monitoring, and observability best practices
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Experience building REST APIs and backend services
- Hands-on experience with Express.js or NestJS
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture
- Experience with databases (MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MySQL)
- Familiarity with message queues and distributed systems
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
- Strong understanding of API security best practices:
- JWT, OAuth, rate limiting, input validation, secure coding
Good to Have
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with:
- GCP Pub/Sub
- AlloyDB (or managed PostgreSQL services)
- Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
- Experience with Redis caching and performance tuning
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (GKE / EKS / AKS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
- Exposure to AI/ML integrations (OpenAI, Vertex AI, etc.)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)
- Basic understanding of React or Angular is a plus
