DevOps - Contract

We're seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to join our team for 10 to 20 hours per week in support of our mission of improving healthcare quality and patient outcomes with AI-first software. We are a small, remote-first company founded by seasoned technologists and entrepreneurs with experience at organizations such as Amazon, Freenome, Axon, and the Allen Institute for AI.

Our current tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Next.js, and PostgreSQL, enabling us to build scalable, high-performance applications with a modern, developer-friendly ecosystem. We deploy on AWS and this role focuses heavily on improving our Terraform architecture, maintaining monitoring/alerting and working with engineers to deploy necessary resources in a compliant manner.

Heres what youll work on

• Expand our existing Terraform architecture to support additional services

• Refine our HIPAA compliance picture and continue to support customer isolated 

  deployments
• Address compliance issues flagged by AWS or Drata monitoring in compliance with policies
• Improve our CI/CD pipeline as needed working with the engineering team and CTO

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working with Terraform / OpenTofu

• Experience with deploying NodeJS applications to AWS on ECS

• Experience with Datadog for log centralization, metrics and alerting

• Able to work with at least 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time zone (PT)

• Fluent in English and based in the United States

Preferred

• Experience establishing service-oriented architecture (SOA) on AWS ECS

• Experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2 or other compliance frameworks

• Experience working in health technology space or in another highly secure environment

• Experience working in a technology startup

• Contributions to open source in the Terraform/OpenTofu ecosystem
