Public Relations Assistant Account Executive

Violet PR is a leading boutique public relations firm that focuses on creating positive impact through media relations and storytelling. The Assistant Account Executive will drive client account success, manage media outreach, and support marketing efforts while working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive client account success by developing client meeting agendas and client reports under the supervision of Account Managers
  • Pitch media by email or phone to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online platforms
  • Research and draft news releases, pitches, fact sheets, media advisories, and social media content
  • Research target media lists using Muckrack and other resources such as Google News and Social Media Platforms
  • Collaboratively generate new ideas to reach targeted media outlets
  • Utilize ChatGPT and other AI tools to develop new ideas for media targets and pitch angles
  • Utilize Canva to create, edit, and organize visual resources for use in tandem with client campaigns
  • Manage social media, including implementation of social media campaigns for clients on platforms including LinkedIn, X and Instagram
  • Research speaking opportunities and editorial calendars for client opportunities
  • Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients
  • Support Violet PR agency marketing efforts as needed

Skills

  • 1-2 years of PR agency or journalism experience
  • Bachelors in PR, communications, journalism or related field
  • Familiarity with AP style and strong writing skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with an interest in public policy, real estate and economic development
  • Track record of securing media coverage and experience developing relationships with reporters in a fast-paced environment
  • Social media experience, with successful campaigns implemented using X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc
  • Detail oriented; able to manage multiple projects in an organized manner
