Entry Level Fire Protection/Plumbing Design Engineer - Boston, MA
PAE is an engineering and design firm that specializes in creating resilient and efficient buildings and communities. They are seeking an Entry Level Fire Protection/Plumbing Design Engineer to provide design support for fire protection and plumbing systems, perform calculations, and assist with construction administration tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide task‑based design support for fire sprinkler, standpipe, special suppression, and fire alarm systems
- Assist with the layout and design of fire protection systems, including sprinkler and standpipe systems
- Perform basic fire protection hydraulic calculations and fire alarm battery sizing calculations
- Assist with fire protection system performance simulations as part of the design process
- Provide task‑based support for plumbing system layout and design under the direction of senior engineers
- Develop an understanding of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA and plumbing codes
- Use Revit and AutoCAD to support fire protection and plumbing design efforts
- Assist with construction administration tasks and complete assigned work with guidance from project team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for discipline work
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain
- Internship experience preferred
