Byline Bank is a full-service commercial bank headquartered in Chicago, dedicated to serving small- and medium-sized businesses, financial sponsors, and consumers. The Rotational Credit Analyst Training Program is designed to develop the next generation of Commercial Banking Officers and Relationship Managers through hands-on experience in credit expertise and client relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite credit transactions for various lines of business
- Spread and analyze financial statements
- Monitor credit risk within loan portfolio
- Prepare annual financial reviews and credit memos
- Accompany lenders on customer and prospect calls to support the bank’s relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and product knowledge
- Provide support to the relationship managers
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics preferred)
- Targeted minimum GPA of 3.5, considered in context with overall experience and strengths
- Strong analytical, multi‑tasking, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams
- Excellent relationship‑building and client‑interaction skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking, curiosity, collaboration, and comfort speaking up in group settings; personable and engaging with stakeholders; technical credit skills can be developed through training
- Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities, student organizations, relevant clubs, or prior internship experience that reflects initiative, leadership, and interest in financial or client‑focused work
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with target graduation from April 2026 to June 2026
- Travel to various Byline locations across Illinois will be necessary; analysts are expected to provide their own transportation or use public transit to reach Chicago, Libertyville, Itasca, Naperville, Wilmette, or Morton Grove (hybrid/remote options may be available)
