Structural Engineering Designer
KPFF Consulting Engineers is a multi-office, multi-discipline engineering firm committed to providing creative solutions and excellent client service. The Entry Level Structural Engineering Designer will work on a variety of building projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and gaining hands-on experience in structural analysis and design.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience while learning directly from licensed structural engineers
- Perform structural analysis and design of building components and systems using industry-standard software under supervision
- Contribute to the development of 3-D BIM models and construction documents including communicating with project drafters, structural detailing, and multidisciplinary BIM coordination
- Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real-world challenges
- Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Build expertise in navigating building and material specific codes, while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices
- Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement
- Participate in KPFF’s Forefront program, our commitment to mentorship, lifelong learning, and career development

Skills
- An ABET accredited master's degree with an emphasis on structural engineering (MSCE/MSE)
- 0-4 years' experience working under a licensed professional engineer
- Coursework and/or familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for primarily building structures
- EIT
- Strong communicator and collaborator
