Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at arenaflex. As a key member of our Water Billing and Customer Service team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our utility customers, responding to customer inquiries and requests for service, and performing a variety of customer service functions. Responsibilities:

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting the public and providing customer service at the front counter and via telephone, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all customers.
  • Answering incoming calls, responding to customer inquiries and requests for service, and providing accurate information regarding utility services, departmental policies, and account/billing matters.
  • Establishing customer accounts, updating, maintaining, and researching account information, ensuring that customer data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Preparing, processing, and issuing work orders for meter re-reads and the connection, disconnection, and reconnection of water services, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Processing requests for after-hours service, preparing related charges, and logging customer addresses for use by after-hours field personnel.
  • Filing and maintaining service requests/work order documentation, ensuring that all records are accurate and easily accessible.
  • Monitoring customer accounts for past due charges, establishing payment arrangements, and granting payment extensions for past due accounts as warranted, ensuring that customers are treated fairly and with respect.
  • Working collaboratively with other staff, City departments, outside agencies, and utility customers to resolve customer complaints and issues, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.

Requirements and Skills:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Coordinating and conducting a variety of customer service functions, including responding to public inquiries and providing customer service to the City's utility customers.
  • Performing accurate data entry and updating/maintaining customer account information, ensuring that customer data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Processing work order requests and customer payments, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other staff, City departments, outside agencies, and utility customers, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record is required. Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
  • A typing test is required.
  • Customer Service Certification/Training is a plus.

This role is performed in a standard office environment, requiring:
