Key Responsibilities

As a Home Based Sr. Specialist in Collections, you will:

• Interact with customers and negotiate bill preparations for both inbound and outbound collections
• Provide a personalized and empathetic experience with credit accountholders, treating them with respect and appreciation
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills through probing or making recommendations for handling exceptional account situations (e.g., bankruptcy, CCC, deceased, legal, fraud, billing disputes, etc.)
• Work in a multi-media environment (emails, phone calls, chat messages, and letters) that's fast-paced and requires prioritization
• Utilize various data and reports to respond to questions, identify issues, and resolve customer problems
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, negotiating, and decision-making abilities
• Experience handling escalated customer complaints and de-escalating situations as needed
• Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with PC/Microsoft applications
• Access to a quiet and distraction-free home workspace to perform the role
• Hardwired internet connection at your home location (using an Ethernet cable to directly connect the Target-issued laptop to the modem or router)
• Meet the minimum bandwidth requirement of 40mbps download/5mbps upload
• Ability to interact through a Target-issued internet webcam for required meetings, training, and/or interactions
• Ability to securely lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment

About You

* High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• 1-2 years of previous customer service or customer support experience
• Ability to interact with customers, employees, and internal business partners with a professional, friendly, empathetic style, and de-escalate as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, negotiating, and decision-making abilities
• Experience handling escalated customer complaints
• Ability to apply various data and reports to respond to questions, identify issues, and resolve customer problems
• Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with PC/Microsoft applications
