Associate Media Planner

The Role: The Associate Media Planner is a foundational role within the Unlock Health Media team, supporting the development, execution, and stewardship of integrated media plans across traditional and digital channels. In this role, you will assist with campaign planning logistics, documentation, QA, and billing processes—ensuring media plans are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client goals. A successful Associate Media Planner is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to build a strong understanding of the media planning lifecycle. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow into a full-funnel media strategist through hands-on learning and mentorship. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and management of media plans for assigned clients
  • Create, organize, and maintain campaign documentation including flowcharts, buy authorizations, insertion orders, buying goals, and briefs
  • Support internal buying and trafficking teams to ensure accurate execution across broadcast and digital channels
  • Assist in digital campaign QA prior to launch, ensuring accuracy and minimizing financial risk
  • Monitor campaign setup timelines and escalate any potential delays or issues
  • Interface with media partners and vendors to resolve planning, execution, or billing issues
  • Support billing reconciliation efforts and investigate discrepancies as needed
  • Maintain clear and timely communication across internal teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Support reporting and campaign wrap-up processes as assigned

  • Demonstrates a foundational understanding of media planning processes and terminology
  • Is highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Is comfortable working with budgets, spreadsheets, and campaign documentation
  • Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Is eager to learn and grow within the media planning discipline
  • Has an interest in healthcare marketing or the healthcare industry

Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of media planning experience in an agency setting (internship experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of traditional and digital media landscapes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets; PowerPoint experience preferred
  • Familiarity with media planning tools such as Guideline and WMJ preferred
  • Basic understanding of self-managed digital platforms (e.g., The Trade Desk), social platforms, and search platforms is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; BS/BA in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Passion for media, marketing, and continuous learning
