Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative for the MHC, you will be responsible for providing information and assistance to customers regarding eligibility and enrollment for Medicaid and Qualified Health Plans on the Exchange. You will utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers. This is a full-time, remote position that requires a strong customer service background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide information and assistance to customers regarding eligibility and enrollment for Medicaid and Qualified Health Plans on the Exchange

  • Utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal and CRM software to perform all tasks and duties for HIX customers
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics and quality standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices

Essential Qualifications

* 2+ years of customer service experience in a call center or healthcare setting

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to pass a State Policy Exam with 80% or higher

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with Medicaid and/or health insurance plans

  • Knowledge of the Maryland Health Connection (MHC) and its services
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Training and Onboarding

  • Training hours: 9:00 am-5:30 pm EST, M-F (Days 1-7 and 8-15)
  • Nesting period: 4 weeks, 9:00 am-5:30 pm EST
  • Schedule: 8-hour shift, day shift
