As a critical member of our patient intake team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient experiences, from registration and insurance verification to financial counseling and support. Job Summary As a Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers, providing exceptional customer service, support, and guidance throughout the patient intake process. Your expertise in registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling will help patients navigate the complexities of healthcare, ensuring they receive the care they need while minimizing financial burdens. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary patient contact for registration, benefits verification, and authorization, integrating multiple functions to ensure seamless patient experiences.
  • Assess patient financial needs, provide insurance and financial guidance, and advise on payment options and available assistance programs.
  • Monitor work queues and reports to ensure accurate and timely completion of patient intake tasks, including insurance, demographic, and eligibility information.
  • Obtain patient signatures on required documents and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, office staff, and outside agencies, demonstrating courtesy, professionalism, and empathy. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Previous experience in registration, insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic keyboard and PC skills, and software applications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first year of employment.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course, such as PAS Medical Terminology, within the first year of employment.
