Adjunct Faculty in Human Resources Management, Online - Remote

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for an online graduate level Human Resources Management class for the upcoming Fall quarter, starting October 6th. Strayer Adjunct Faculty are not just instructors, they are also coaches and mentors. We believe in a strong faculty-student relationship and building a community in the classroom. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum through the use of technology and videos.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
  • Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Job Skills:

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the University.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner.

Work Experience:

  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources Management or other HR function preferred.
  • 3 years of Project Management experience required.

Education: All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.

  • Doctorate Degree in Human Resources Management, Human Resources Development, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Development required OR
  • Doctorate Degree in Business-related Discipline w/ Master's Degree with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Human Resources Management or Human Resources Development required.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Other:

  • No travel.
  • Must be able to lift 1 lb.
  • Mobility within the office includes movement from floor to floor.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
