Job Overview In this exciting role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and security of our information technology systems and networks across the enterprise. As a Systems Engineer Lead, you will play a critical leadership role in managing and supervising other engineers on the team, providing technical guidance and expertise, and driving the implementation of new technologies and solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues, develop and implement system lifecycle management plans, and collaborate with vendors to resolve domain-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and expertise to the systems engineering team, including guidance on strategy, design, and support Collaborate with other technical services teams to manage, maintain, and resolve complex IT services Develop and implement system lifecycle management plans, including bug fixes, critical updates, and new solution releases Lead root cause analysis investigations for critical or recurring incidents and provide escalation support for incident resolution Create and maintain a system of documentation, including knowledge base articles, design support, and technical documentation Participate in project realization, including requirements guidance, design, development, deployment, and compliance and safety assessments Monitor industry technology trends and influence vendor product plans based on Starbucks technology requirements Evangelize and gain support for new technologies and solutions within the organization Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Specifically, you will need to have: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on information technology and network management Strong technical skills, including experience with business systems, hardware, software, and operating systems Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with executives, architectural teams, and other stakeholders Experience with system lifecycle management, including bug fixes, critical updates, and new solution releases Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead root cause analysis investigations and provide escalation support for incident resolution Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have: Experience with cloud-based technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including security, backup, and redundancy strategies Experience with IT service management, including incident management, problem management, and change management Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work based on planned results and align with AOP and PMO initiatives Experience with vendor management, including negotiating at a senior level with vendors and third-party systems Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have a range of skills and competencies, including: Technical skills, including experience with business systems, hardware, software, and operating systems Leadership skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with executives, architectural teams, and other stakeholders Problem-solving skills, including the ability to lead root cause analysis investigations and provide escalation support for incident resolution Collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Starbucks, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
